SolarCalc is a utility to calculate sun and moon rise and set times at your current location. SolarCalc will also display lunar phase dates as well as the Julian Day, Greenwich Universal Time, Greenwich Sidereal Time and Terrestrial Dynamical Time.
Displays Civil, Nautical, and Astronomical twilight times.
Displays Sun and Moon Right Ascension and Declination.
Displays Sun and Moon Altitude and Azimuth.
Displays Moon age, distance and apparent size.
Note: SolarCalc accounts for approximate refraction of 0.5667 degrees. Rise or Set is based on the upper limb instead of the center of the disc. Civil twilight calculations are based on the zenith distance of the center of the solar disc (6 degrees below the horizon).
Pros and cons of SolarCalc app for iPhone and iPad
SolarCalc app good for
Because morning and evening twilights far not simmetric about the noon.
This App will be perfect and excellent if you will add TIME to the Next Moon.
Thanks
Some bad moments
This is like having the nautical almanac gone mobile. Great info at ones finger tips!
Could be 5 stars but... Used a custom location and all the info is in GMT instead of local time - useless! Please fix this ASAP or give choice.
Super cool & will help me plan outdoor activities! Love it. Great job developer!
App does not rotate from vertical to horizontal when you turn the iPad! Its like a zoomed iPod app - works only in one vertical orientation.
Have been using app for a few months, liked it so I purchased full version. Just downloaded new update and now it crashes whenever I try to open it.
One star until the problem gets fixed.
Crashes with my iPhone 4S since the recent update. Worked great until the update and I hope problem gets resolved
